I just updated my custom Google Custom Search Engine with over 2,800 hospital web sites. For those of you unfamiliar with the Google CSE, it’s a service for building search engines with results limited to a pre-defined list of domains.
My CSE includes over 2,800 websites I’ve tracked down from my own research and other various sources. If you manage a hospital web site, or are just interested in what hospitals are doing, this search engine will be a useful tool. The search engine includes non-commercial hospital site, so mayoclinic.org are in the results but not mayclinic.com
For example, what if your hospital CEO asks for examples of CEO messages? A regular Google search for “CEO message” will bring back 1,000′s of hits across all industries. This search engine will only return results from hospital websites.
Or do search for “twitter.com” and find all hospital sites with links to Twitter.
If you want to know what U.S. hospitals are doing, this is the only search engine where every result is a good result.
You can find the search engine here, or in top header of this site.
Not on the list? – send updates to ed@ebennett.org
