Link Exchange Puzzle

Anyone who runs a web site is familiar with the link exchange request. We get two or three each day. Most are for commercial sites, many are for asbestos lawsuit sites, almost all of them are ignored.

But this one was a little different – see why after the jump:

Why did Chicago O’Hare airport want a link on the Univ. of Maryland Hospital site, and why did they select this particular page for the linkback?

It took a few seconds to figure out, and gave me good laugh. Remember – automated research tools are a great time saver, but you should always review the results.

I think so because of text “Find a doctor ” and it thinks that its relevant with find flight information .

    Is that correct ?

Good guess, but not quite. Here’s a hint, there is an exact data match on the page. The tool they used did a good job finding potential pages, but this one isn’t right for a back-link

ORD is airport initials for O’Hare

ORD is the abbreviation for the O’Hare Airport which happens to be Dr. Ord’s name.

You are both correct. The program was looking for any mention of ORD, but wasn’t smart enough to see the context.

Pretty fascinating case study, Ed. Thanks so much!
